Cremation has taken place. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. Steve Sathre officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck.
Irene was born Sept. 15, 1915, near Hamberg, the daughter of Edward and Millie (Platte) Dablow. She was raised primarily by her aunt and uncle, and attended country school in the Hamburg area.
Irene married Oscar Hindemith on Oct. 13, 1935, in Ashley. They resided in Bismarck throughout their marriage. Together, they enjoyed camping and traveling, and being with their friends, children and grandchildren. They were married for 66 years before Oscar's death in August 2000.
A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Irene was always there for her family. She loved to cook and bake, and will be remembered for her talents in the kitchen. She also loved to play bridge with many of her friends. Irene was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where she spent many years as an active Circle member.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Agnes, Omaha, Neb.; her daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Bob Barnett, Bismarck; three grandchildren, Paul Hindemith, Omaha, Neb., Lynsey Struthers, Burnsville, Minn., and Ryan Barnett, Bloomington, Minn.; and one sister, Helen Christensen, Eagan, Minn.
Irene was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and one sister, Eleanor Knight.
