Janice Marie Hoag Almasi, 52, passed away Thursday, July 11, 2013, surrounded by her loving family at her mom's home.
Born Oct 19, 1960, she was the daughter of Leonard Hoag and Ilene (Major) Hoag.
Janice was very active in the community and was a member of the Rosary Altar Society at St Michael's, Saratoga and Warren County 4-H and Friends in Harmony Barbershop, in addition to being a former member of St Alphonsus Retreat Team.
In her free time, she loved riding in a hot-air balloon as well as being part of the crew team.
Janice was very artistic and appreciated photography and a good book. She also enjoyed cooking for her family.
Janice was employed and worked for Adirondack Trust Co. in Saratoga.
Predeceasing Janice is her father, Leonard Hoag; her brother, Leonard J Hoag II; and her maternal and paternal grandparents.
Survivors include her husband, Joseph Peter Almasi of South Glens Falls; her mother, Ilene (Major) Hoag of South Glens Falls; her sister, Theresa A Lozo and her husband, Stephen, of Albany; her sister, Erika J Hoag of Hudson Falls; her niece Suzanne Lozo Sipes and her husband, Dustin, of Wickenburg, Ariz; her niece Allison Lozo of Lancaster, PA; her nephew Zachary Hoag of Hudson Falls; her nephew Jeremy Hoag of Hudson Falls; her niece Chaeli Hoag of Hudson Falls; her nephew George Michael Almasi and his wife, Natalie, of Provincetown, Mass; her niece Mary Rose Sibialia and her husband, Frank, of Mt Kisco, NY; her niece Annie Marie Bodrozic and her husband, Luka, of Chicago, Ill; her nephew Dr Steven John Almasi of Madison, Wis; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at St Michael the Archangel Church, 80 Saratoga Ave, South Glens Falls. Burial will follow at Glens Falls Cemetery.
Family and friends are invited to and may call from 4 to 7pm Monday, July 15, at Regan & Denny Funeral Home, 94 Saratoga Ave., South Glens Falls.
The family suggests donations in Janice's memory be made to Hospice of Saratoga, 179 Lawrence St., Saratoga Springs, NY 12866 or to CR Wood Cancer Center c/o Glens Falls Hospital, 102 Park St., Glens Falls NY 12801.
