Elizabeth "Lizzie" Hoag Allen was the daughter of Jonathan Elihu Hoag and Elizabeth Roberson. Lizzie's mother died just nine weeks after her birth. Jonathan married a year later for the third time. Her half siblings were Frances Hoag Whitley and Albert Allan Hoag.
Lizzie married Charles Allen in 1883, age 19. Allen was the long time newspaper editor and postmaster in Schuylerville. They had three children Bessie Allen Burton (1886-1978), Frances Allen (1889-1915) and Theron Allen (1893-1966). Frances died from injuries in an automobile accident near Saratoga Springs in 1915.
Lizzie lived into her 102nd year!
