the late Marshall Grier and Lanie
Orrison Shaw, formerly of Uniontown,
died at the home of her son,
Joseph Hodes, El Paso, Texas, Friday,
Dec. 28, 1956.
Mrs. Hodes was born and reared
in the Springdale Road-Uniontown
area but lived most of her married
life in Houston. She was the
mother of Gen. Henry Irving
Hodes, newly appointed commander-
in-chief of United States forces
in Europe. In addition to Joseph,
El Paso, and Gen. Hodes, West
Germany, she is survived by a
third son, Marshall Hodes of Harlingen,
Texas; six grandchildren
and six great-grandchildren.
