She was a World War II veteran, having served with the Army Nurse's Corp and attaining the rank of First Lieutenant. She was a member of the Women's Memorial in Washington, DC and the American Red Cross.
She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church in Fort Mitchell, a volunteer at the Diocesan Catholic Children's Home, a member of the St. Xavier High School Women's Board, and the Xavier Book Lover's Club.
She is survived by daughter, Mary Ann (Thomas) Widmyer of Fort Mitchell; sons, Dr. Richard (Marilyn) Hoffmann of Lutz, Florida, and Robert Thomas (Melane) Hoffmann of Clarksburg, Maryland; sisters, Loraine Jacob of Crestview Hills, and Eleanor Kenyon of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; eight grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husband, Dr. Robert J. Hoffmann; and parents, Phillip Joseph and Anna Holloran Ziegler.
