Canfield: Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday at Lane Family Funeral Home, 65 N. Broad Street, Canfield for Nelda Pauline Anderson, 89 of Canfield who died Wednesday morning at the Vista Center in Boardman. Previously she had resided at Glenellen Assisted Living in North Lima. Nelda was born September 4, 1925 in Canfield; a daughter of the late Lawrence and Evelyn Rominger Hofmann.

Since the age of three, she was a member of the Calla Community Church and as an adult she was very active in the Calla Women's Missionary Society. Nelda loved traveling with her husband Raymond. They traveled together though out most of the United States in addition to their worldwide travels to Peru, Egypt, China and Costa Rica.

Nelda was a wife, mother, homemaker and an active partner in running the family farm. Her life was busy taking care of her family. She loved to cook and bake. Everyone who knew Nelda will remember her for her contagious smile and for her delicious homemade doughnuts. Nelda was also a poll worker for the Canfield Election Board for many years.

Her husband, Raymond Anderson, whom she married June 11, 1945, died May 25, 2013. They had been married and living on the family farm for 67 years. In 2013, Nelda proudly received the bicentennial farm award, which was presented to her at the Canfield Fair.

She leaves her six children; five daughters, Emily (Larry) Serett of Las Vegas, Nevada, Bonnie (Tom) Kellett of Manassas, Virginia, Donna (Bob) Snyder of Sterling, Virginia, Linda (Bruce) Keylor of Las Vegas, Nevada, Elaine (Paul) Medved of Salem; one son, Wayne Anderson of Canfield and 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Nelda also leaves a sister, Shirley Hofmann of Bella Vista, Arkansas; two brothers, Ted (Bonnie) Hofmann of Lake Milton and David (Carol) Hofmann of Berlin Center.
