Elva Jean Bogard, 85, of Gilman, IL, died at 6:28 P.M. Monday, June 8, 2015 at her home .
A funeral will be 11:00 A.M. on Friday, June 12 at Redenius Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Carol Lange officiating. Burial will be in the Wenger Cemetery, Gilman. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Thursday June 11, 2015 and also one hour prior to the 11:00 A.M. service on Friday, June 12, 2015 at the Redenius Funeral Home in Gilman.
Memorials may be made to The ARC of Iroquois County Christmas Fund or Iroquois Memorial Hospice.
Elva was born on October 17, 1929 in Roseville, IL, to DeMoss and Villa Kirby Holeman.
She spent her childhood in Manteno, IL and graduated from Manteno High School.
Elva married Robert E. Bogard September 10, 1947 in Joliet, IL He died October 3, 2002
Survivors include two sons, Bobby Joe (Cindie) Bogard of Raymore, MO. David (Linda) Bogard of Lombard, IL Son-in-law, Dale Tammen of Danforth, IL Two daughters, Laurel (Dean) Schmohe and Gayle Trammell both of Gilman, one brother, Raymond (Bettie) Holeman of Westchester, IL twenty two grand children, thirty six great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandson.
Preceding her in death were her husband , parents, two daughter Susan Tammen and Cheryl Bogard, two sisters Evelyn Andrews and Marjorie Gardner. Three brothers Donald Max Holeman, Leon Rex Holeman and Wilbur Keith Holeman.
Elva was raised by her Aunt Nellie Holeman Taylor and Uncle Harry Taylor with special cousins Helen Stice and Everette Taylor, they have all preceded her in death.
Elva was a member of the Women of the Moose. She enjoyed volunteering and helping her neighbors. She liked to listen to the Chicago Cubs on the radio.
Elva loved her family and grand children.
