George "W" (Billy) Holeman, 85, passed away Wednesday, May 6, 2009. He was born June 7, 1923 in Gentry County, MO, the son of Orval Marion and Jenny Bernice (Taylor) Holeman.

He served in the U.S. Navy from May 14, 1941 to June 6, 1946 as an electrician's mate, 1st Class where he served on the ship USS Saratoga CV3 from November 1941 to September 1945. He was awarded the honors of Victory Medal, American Area, Asiatic Pacific 8 Stars, and American Defense 1 Star.

On December 21, 1943, he married Bette Walton in San Francisco, CA. She survives of the home.
He was an electrician for 50 years and worked out of Local Union #124 I.B.E.W. in Kansas City for 35 years, retiring in 1985.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Virginia Theel.
Survivors in addition to his wife are 3 daughters, Jenny West-Holeman, Overland Park, KS, Virginia Beth (Randy) Neil, Peculiar, MO, and Mary Melody (Larry) Spiking, King City, MO; 2 sisters, Doris McElwain, King City, MO and Mary Anna Snapp, North Kansas City, MO; brother, Jack Alfred Holeman, King City, MO; grandchildren, Lonnie Joseph West, Leslie Dawne West-Shay, Lesa Dannielle West, Sarah Christine Vokolek, Rebecca Lynn Venditto, William Dale Spiking, Michael Paul Spiking, and Jacob Landon Spiking; step-grandchild, Max Joseph Doby; great-grandchildren, Jeremie Joseph West, Cody Garrett West, Skye Lynne Shay Chebultz, Lapyr T.L. Shay, Cameron Keough, Jordan Vokolek, Morgan Vokolek, Chandra Villalobos, Marisa Villalobos, Emma Christine Spiking; step great-grandchild, Kayleena Venditto; and a great-great-grandson, Aaron James Thuro.
