Services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, December 8, 2012, at the Richton Church of God, in Richton, for Mrs. Sarah Lucille Bates, 89, of Richton, who passed away December 5, 2012 at her residence. Interment will be in the Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Ellisville with Bro. Steve Brewer and Bro. Barry Sullivan officiating.
Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. Friday, December 7, 2012 at the Richton Church of God.
Mrs. Bates was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thurman Bates; two sons, Henry Bates and J.L. Bates and a daughter, Barbara Creel.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jesse Breland, Troy Walley, Brian Scarborough, Alton Rigney, Harold Pitts, Allen Bates and Joe Breland.
She is survived by two sons, Eulle Bates of Richton and Robert Bates of Ovett; 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 21 great-great-grandchildren.
