Death of Mrs. A.J. Crum
After a lingering sickness Mrs. A.J. Crum, mother of Frank Crum, county clerk of Wilson county, died at the home of herself and husband in New Albany on Monday of this week, aged 67 years, 2 months and 9 days. The following brief sketch has been furnished.
Isadora Hornaday was born in Jackson county, Indiana, March 27, 1843. She died June 5, 1911, at her home in New Albany.
January 29, 1860, she was married to A.J. Crum. Eight children were born of this union. Jackson W. Crum and Ezekiel D. Crum died after reaching manhood. The children who survive are Mrs. Nannie Daniels, Long Beach, California; Mrs. Lillian Hedges, Syracuse, Kansas; D.C. Crum, Salt Lake City, Utah; C.M. Crum, San Diego, California; Frank Crum and Virgil Crum of New Albany.
Mrs. Crum united with the Christian church at the age of sixteen. Throughout fifty-two years she has remained faithful to the faith she professed as a girl.
The family came to kansas in 1872 and moved to the vicinity of New Albany about 17 years ago.
Death came at the end of a gradual decline of more than eight months. The services were conducted from the church in New Albany by C.W. Longman of Fredonia.
