OBITUARY - Plain Dealer, Wabash (IN)

Charlene A. Anderson, 76, 353 Wilson St., Wabash, died at 9:30 a.m. Friday, March 7, at her home.

She was born on June 16, 1931, in Urbana, the daughter of John V. and Louise (Conrad) Hornaday.

She married Paul A. Anderson on Aug. 12, 1950, in St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Lagro. He survives. She was a homemaker and worked in the Clarks' Finer Food deli for more than 20 years. She also cooked at St. Beranrd's School, Honeywell, and the United Methodist Church Daycare. She was a member of the St. Bernard Catholic Church, Wabash, the Rosary Sodality, Friends of St. Patrick's and was a Brownie leader. Mrs. Anderson was a 1949 Wabash High School graduate. She enjoyed quilting, going with her friends to Wagon Wheel Theater, her family and her cat, Celia. She was an avid doll collector, a loving mother and grandmother and a great caregiver to her husband. She was a fighter and cancer survivor and was a loving and giving person.

Also surviving are a son, Dan (Carolyn) Anderson, Wabash; five daughters, Connie (Jerry) Holmes, Wabash, Pam (Ron) Satrom, Logansport, Deb Jacobs, Wabash, Bev (Chris) Krom, North Manchester and Nancy (Mike) Hall, Wabash; a brother, Larry (Carol) Hornaday, Mesa, Ariz., a sister, Lois Hornaday, Fort Wayne; 19 grandchildren, Andrea (David Prybis) Holmes, Eaton, Angie (Bob) Hipp, North Manchester, Jamie (Nikki) Holmes, Wabash, Matthew (Stephanie) Holmes, Florida, Abbie (Mark Warrick) Huffman, Texas, Josh (Genta) Huffman, Texas, Indie Huffman, Texas, Kevin Jacobs, Wabash, Ashley (Jay) Blackburn, Gas City, Kayla Hall, Casey Hall, David Hall, Derek Hall, Adrian Anderson, Duranda Anderson, Brandi Seeley and Jamie Seeley, all of Wabash, Andrew (Niki) Krom, Macy, and Taylor Krom, Urbana; and 23 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Anderson was preceded in death by her parents and a son, David Alan Anderson.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 11, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Lagro. The Rev. Sextus Don will officiate. #Burial will be in Falls Cemetery, Wabash. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 10, at McDonald Funeral Home, Eddingfield Chapel, 231 Falls Ave., Wabash. A Rosary service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Friends of St. Patrick's Church, Lagro.
