DUNCANVILLE | Lucille H. Colburn, age 75, of Duncanville, died February 27, 2014, at home. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, March 2, 2014, at Liberty Baptist Church with Rev. Kenny Overstreet officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carver and Jenny House, and her brother, Charles House (Betty).
Survivors include her husband, Cecil E. Colburn of Duncanville; daughter, Wanda Thompson (Jeffrey) of Brent; sons, Jimmy Colburn (Sonya) of Coaling, Kenneth Colburn (Penny) of Montevallo, Robert Colburn (Peggy) of Cottondale, and Thomas Colburn (Beth) of Duncanville; sisters, Katie Hubbard of Duncanville, Lizzie Hembree of Montgomery, Linda Jones (Wayne) of Richton, Miss., Reba Johnston (Warren) of Tuscaloosa, Roberta Lawrence (Jack) of Brent, Mary House of Montevallo and Lois Cooley (Larry) of Duncanville; brothers, Floyd House (Patsy) of Abbeville, J.C. House (Lana) of Duncanville, and R.F. House (Sharon) of Brent; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Lucille retired from Tuscaloosa County Board of Education as a bus driver.
Pallbearers will be John Thompson, Timothy Thompson, Elijah Colburn, Josh Colburn, Rodney Johns, Bubba Jones, Ryan Colburn and Royce Colburn.
Honorary pallbearers are all her nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the church of one's choice or Ovarian Cancer Research.
