First marriage to Richard Cleveland 17 August 1848, Henry Co., Georgia
Marriage to Marcus Calvin Gilbert 1 October 1857, Coosa Co., Alabama. He was first married to Elizabeth Carter who died about 1855 according to records in the "A History Old Harmony Cemetery" by Jerry B. Jones.
Federal census records enumerates Barbara and Marcus Gilbert in 1860 in Coosa County with his children, Luther, Elizabeth, Louisa, Selana, Robert and John F. in the household and with M.C. and Barbara's babies, Mary F. and Martha A. 1870 the family lived in Etowah County, AL. Barbara apparently died in January 1875 as stated by family members as Marcus married Lucinda Dismukes on Sept 2, 1875 as shown on Etowah County marriage records.
"A History of Old Harmony Cemetery" states that Barbara House Gilbert was buried in Old Harmony. Also, other family records show that Barbara and Marcus are both buried in Old Harmony Cemetery. If markers were ever put there, perhaps they are under ground by now. I viewed all the cemetery survey listings for Old Harmony Cemetery back to 1960's and none show these names. Most likely that had a mountain rock, etc. to mark their resting place.
The following children, Mary F., Martha Angeline, George E., Emma I. and Arminda, were children of Marcus Calvin and Barbara (maiden name: House) Cleveland Gilbert.
