James F. Houston, Sr., 78 of Elizabeth, passed away on February 12, 2015 at Delaire Nursing Home in Linden. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the funeral service in the Werson Funeral Home, 635 North Wood Avenue, Linden on Tuesday February 17, 2015 at 11am. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Hillside, NJ. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday from 9 am till 11 am.
James was born in Holden West Virginia and was a long time resident of Elizabeth, NJ. He was employed by Plastic Color Chips in Bound-Brook, NJ for 25 years, retiring in 1990. He enjoyed making home movies of his family, camping, and talking to people about his military years which were proudly served in the Army.
James is predeceased by his beloved wife Hiroko (Tsuziki) Houston (1992), 2 siblings Mildred McMillan and Ottis S. Houston. He is survived by his loving children, Eartha Johnson, Yvonne Marshall, Regina Houston, James Houston and Suzanna Houston; his dear sisters, Joan A. Coleman and Clara E. Jones; his cherished grandchildren, Kenneth Lee, Katrina, Terrell, Emiko, Kenneth Marshall, Nicole, Thomas, Alicia, Kristina and Andrew also survived by many great grand children. In lieu of flowers donations to Roselle PBA Local 99, 210 Chestnut Street, Roselle, NJ 07203 or Ronald McDonald House, 405 East 73rd St. NY, NY 10021 in his memory would be appreciated.
