POSSIBLE ID:
Elizabeth H Horton
Massachusetts, Boston Passenger Lists, 1891-1943
birth: 1863
immigration: 1913 Boston, Suffolk, Massachusetts, United States
***********
Elizabeth was the oldest daughter of Edwin Johnson Horton and Elizabeth Spellman Howe, who are on many genealogy sites. I have just discovered that she was one of the first social workers to train at the New York School of Philanthropy, which later became Columbia University's School of Social Work. She became an after-care agent in Manhattan, and was likely the first social worker in the United States to work in a mental hospital.
