Quincy, for Frank C. Howe, 92, a retired railroad engineer formerly employed by the New York, New Haven, and Hartford Railroad. He was a Quincy resident and died Wednesday in Quincy City Hospital after a brief illness.
Mr. Howe was born in Boston where he received his public school education.
He worked on the railroad for 52 years, and had been an engineer for 35 years when he retired in 1958. He was a former member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen and Engineers. At the time he left the railroad, he was on the Boston to New Haven run.
He leaves a son, Frank C. Howe Jr. of South Boston, a daughter, Kathryn Flett of Weymouth, and five grandchildren.
Burial will be in Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge.
