Eileen M. Bueche, 88, lifetime resident of Mishawaka, Ind., died Monday morning, April 1, in Fountainview Place, Mishawaka, following complications from a stroke in December. Eileen was born May 4, 1913, in Mishawaka, the daughter of Emma (Kronewitter) and Frank Huba. On May 27, 1944, she married J. Joseph Bueche, who preceded her in death Nov. 25, 1983. Prior to her marriage she worked in the law office of Charles W. Bingham, a prominent city attorney. A devout woman, she spent a year at Ancilla Convent, Donaldson, Ind., after her years at Mishawaka High School. Always active in her church, she was a member of the choir and the Players Club, a group of young adult actors. She belonged to the Rosary Society Circle 6 and the Theresians, an organization that worked to foster religious vocations.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Huba, and sisters, Marie (Ted) Hall and Virginia (Clement) Canfield, all of Mishawaka. She was a dear aunt to many nieces and nephews, as well as great-nieces and nephews among whom are Patricia (Gerald) Welling, Dolores Canfield, Janet Grauel, all of South Bend, Ind., and Marilyn (Jim) Skallerud of Lebanon, Tenn., Thomas (Deb) Canfield of Elkhart, Ind., Martin Canfield of Mishawaka, Gregory Canfield of South Bend, Michael (Celine) Canfield and James (Irma) Canfield of San Antonio Texas, Carolyn (Conrad) Jankowski of Jupiter, Fla., and the late John (Jody) Hall of Mishawaka.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today, April 4, in the Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, 503 W. Third Street, Mishawaka, where a Rosary will be recited at 4 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial, Rev. Robert A. Yast officiating, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 5, in St. Joseph Church, Mishawaka, with burial following at Fairview Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County.
