SIDNEY - Mrs. Shirley Hubbell Anderson, 72, of 79 River St., Sidney, died Friday, May 23, 1997 at her residence.

She was born Oct. 5, 1924 in Blenheim, the daughter of Charles and Ruth (Crapser) Hubbell. she was married to Karl B. Anderson March 5, 1944 in Oneonta.

Mrs. Anderson was a graduate of Jefferson High School, enjoyed cooking and baking and at one time was employed on the cafeteria staff at the Sidney Central School.

She enjoyed her family, friends, vegetable and flower gardening. She was a very active member of the First Baptist Church of Sidney and at one time was a pianist, choir member, Sunday school teacher and a member and past president of the Missionary Society.

She is survived by her husband, Karl B. Anderson of Sidney; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sylvia and Harvey Graham of Montgomery and Karen and Richard Prue of Emmaus, Pa.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Steven and Elaine Anderson of Sidney and William and Marilyn Anderson of Bainbridge; eight grandchildren; an aunt and several cousins.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 31, 1997 at the First Baptist Church in Sidney with the Rev. David Fraher, pastor, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Robert Wesley. Burial will be in Plains Cemetery in Oneonta.

There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church, Sidney or the Lourdes Oncology Department c/o Dr. Reedling, Lourdes Hospital, Binghamton, N.Y.
