Mrs. Pauline Bowne's father was Paul Hudson, who had been the publisher and editor of the Mexican Herald in Mexico City. He had also been an associate editor with the Washington Post.

Her paternal grandfather was J. K. Hudson (FG #6260609). He rose to the rank of Major in the Civil War and later became a newspaper publisher in Topeka, Kansas. In the 1898 war with Spain, he was appointed Brigadier General.

Her mother was Mrs. Augusta (Price) Hudson. She died on May 8, 1939 and her obituary was published in papers such as the May 9 New York Times and the May 9 Brooklyn Eagle.

Her maternal grandfather was Judge Nathan Price (FG# 27688766) of Troy, Kansas (not Troy NY, as reported in the New York Times).

Her brother was Col. Donald Hudson (FG# 49208553), who died on June 11, 1967. His obituaries referred to him as "a flying ace with the celebrated 27th Aero Squadron of World War I," and he was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross. He served 39 years in the military. He was also credited with being the first pilot to fly over the Andes mountains.

Her sister was Mrs. Helen Marie (Hudson) Holt, who died on March 21, 1944 in New York City. She was married to Robert Pope Holt.

On August 1, 1914, Pauline Hudson was married in Kansas City to Leighton Miles. A lengthy article in the August 1, 1914 Topeka State Journal noted that: "… the bride's people, on both sides of the house, are of long established families in this state . . . Her maternal grandfather, the late Judge Nathan Price, was widely known and he and his family have occupied a prominent place in various affairs. Her grandfather, the late Mr. J. K. Hudson, was a pioneer newspaper man, and her grandmother, Mrs. Hudson, is a writer of ability and a woman of prominence. Her father, Mr. Paul Hudson, was for years editor of the Mexican Herald, of the City of Mexico"

The marriage ended in divorce, and on September 15, 1921 she was married in New York City to G. Brownlee Bowne.
