LURENE DAISY BOOKOUT September 11th, 1918 - July 10th, 2007 Resident of Hayward The cherished wife of the late Truman Bookout, Lurene is the dearly beloved mother of Gary Bookout and Carol Bookout Upton, mother in law of Carol Jeanne Bookout, Jonas Eklund, Scott Johansen, grandmother of Amy Bookout, Damon Bookout, Tiffany Eklund, Misty Johansen and Brian Cox. Great-grandmother of Chase Eklund, Samantha Eklund, Savannah Eklund and Max Olsen. She is also survived by her sisters Dorothy and Bernice. Lurene dearly cherished God for almost 89 years. Her face constantly glowed with love, joy and thankfulness in receiving His endless blessings. She loved her dog, Buddy and the two walked many miles together on the streets of Hayward until May 18th when pain from her broken pelvis ended their walks together. She was an avid reader of Irish History and fiction, loved animals, flowers, laughing, music and dining out.
