Gladys Mae Hudson Dunn, age 89, passed away peacefully, February l, 2012, after a short illness.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, Robert O. Dunn. She leaves her son, Robert L. Dunn; daughter-in-law, Jo Anne Dunn; three grandchildren: Michelle Camacho (husband Charles), Robert R. Dunn (wife, Debra), Patrick J. Rodgers; and five great-grandchildren: Peyton, Andrea, and Mitchell Camacho, and Madison and Makenna Dunn.
Gladys first moved to California in 1942 following her husband's assignment to Treasure Island Naval Base, where she took a job at Kaiser Shipyards in Richmond. By 1946, she was a full time devoted mother and homemaker. A member of the Southern Baptist faith, she served for years as a Youth Sunday School Teacher.
At her death, she was residing In Roseville, California, having had previous residences in Auburn and El Sobrante, Calif., Gladewater, Tex., Jackson Miss., and Memphis, Tenn.
Friends are invited to attend a celebration of Gladys' life on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Lassila Funeral Chapel, 551 Grass Valley Hwy., Auburn, CA, 95603. The family requests that remembrances in Gladys' name may be made to Alzheimer's Foundation of America or to the American Heart Assoc.
