David Hughes went to be with the Lord on Tuesday November 15, 2011 at the age of 87. He was born January 24, 1924 in Greer, SC but he and his wife Thelmarie made San Antonio their home. David proudly served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII as a waist-gunner on a B-17. He acquired both his Bachelors and Masters Degrees from Trinity University, which he put to use as a school teacher during the next 30 years. David was preceded in death by his parents William and Claire Hughes, 3 sisters, 2 brothers and his son Kirk. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Thelmarie, as well as his daughters Anna Lowary (Dean), Nancy McWhorter (Jim), Carolyn Kennell (Edward), and Kimberly McKay (Darren) and his sons, Bob Tuttle (Cindy), and Mark Hughes (Gail). He had 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
