Trucial Lavurene Dorsey entered rest on Tuesday, July 5, 2005 at the age of 83. Lavurene was born in Ballinger, Texas on September 20, 1921 to the late John D. Hughes and Dona Lea Smith Hughes and was the eldest of three children.

Growing up in Ballinger, Lavurene married the love of her life John David Dorsey on December 18, 1941 and with her passing has for the first time in 63 years and seven months released the hand of her life partner.

Lavurene was preceded in death by her parents and her brother John L. Hughes.

She is survived by her beloved husband John David; daughter, Cheryl Dorsey, of San Antonio, son Jerry B. Dorsey and his wife Sherri of Houston; Granddaughters Dilene Griffin, Bethany Richter and husband Kris of San Antonio; Grandsons Jeffrey B. Dorsey and wife Nicole, and Justin B. Dorsey all of Houston; and her great-granddaughter Kylee Katherine Richter of San Antonio.

Greatly missing her is her faithful guardian, JayCee. She also leaves behind her sister Glennis G. Brown and husband Joe from Las Vegas, Nevada and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family of Lavurene would like to express sincere appreciation to Dr. Mitchell Finnie, Shirley Todd, Marva Bracks and the members of Vitas for the loving care and consideration given to her.

SERVICES
Visitation will be Friday. July 8th from 5:00 to 9:00 PM and services will be Saturday, July 9th at 2:30 PM at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North, 3401 Cherry Ridge.

Pallbearers are Charles Randow, Clinton Scheels, Tom Bailey, Kris Richter and her Grandsons.
