Ms. Arant was the daughter of Dr. Wallace Arnold Hull and Joyce Burton Hull. She was a graduate of Mississippi University for Women where she earned her Bachelor of Music. Ms. Arant, a music teacher, taught at Indianola Academy for over twenty years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Twentieth Century Club, and was a Patron of Brindley Theater and Greenwood Little Theater.
Ms. Arant was preceded in death by her father. She leaves to cherish her memory her sons, Hugh Miller Arant, III and his wife Rebekah of Greenwood, and Stephen Burton Arant and his wife Lacy of Starkville; two sisters,Judy Hull Job and her husband Christopher of Houston, Texas and Marsha Hull Tindall and her husband Frank of Oxford; nieces and nephews, Jonathan Martin Job, Lorrain Tindall Brown, Wesley Marden Tindall; three great nieces, Georgia Evans Brown, Tindall McCarter Brown, and Lillian Louise Tindall; and all of her past and current students whom she considered to be her babies.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 30, 2015 from 1:00 pm until the 3:00 pm funeral service at First United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Indianola City Cemetery. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola is in charge of arrangements.
