Katherine Tyler Hunt of Emmett, Idaho. She was born on March 7, 1906 and died March 21, 1989. Her father was the honorable Governor Frank W. Hunt; Idaho's governor from 1900 to 1902. Her father died later that same year. Her mother, Ruth Maynard Hunt, was left the late Governor's mining interests, which began to struggle. Mrs. Hunt could not travel with the infant Katherine. The mines failed. Mrs. Hunt was able to provide for her daughter through violin lessons and business interests in Emmett, Idaho. Katherine was sent to finishing school on the East coast and then went on to Stanford University. She spent time traveling and bringing commodities back home from Europe and Asia. One of her Europe trips was to the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. Most importantly, she was the stern librarian, Miss Katherine, to children growing up in Emmett, Idaho. Courtesy: IdaHistory.
