Jo Ann Crosby, 59, a longtime Lewiston resident and nurse, died of cancer at the Gardiner Home here Tuesday.

She was born Aug. 8, 1937, to Joseph O. and Anna E. Wimmer Hunt at Terre Haute, Ind. She grew up and graduated from State High School there in 1955.

She then attended the Indiana State-Union Hospital of Nursing at Terre Haute, graduating in 1958. She then worked as a registered nurse at the Union Hospital.

She married Phillip E. Crosby April 5, 1957, at Terre Haute.

The couple moved to Lewiston in 1959. She worked as a registered nurse at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center at Lewiston and was a supervisor for the last 15 years of her employment there. Ill health forced her to take a disability retirement in 1991.

She was a member of the American Nursing Association and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Clarkston Moose Lodge.

She enjoyed cross-country and downhill skiing, playing bridge, sewing, knitting and playing games with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband at the couple's Lewiston home; two sons, Eric M. Crosby of Phoenix and Randy P. Crosby of Portland, Ore.; a daughter, Michelle D. Field of Phoenix; five brothers, Malcolm Hunt of Bremerton, Wash., David Hunt of Spokane, George Hunt of Kamiah and Alfred and Joseph O. Hunt, both of Lewiston; and four grandchildren.

A son, Bradley J. Crosby, died previously.

Visitation will be from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday at Malcom's Brower-Wann Memorial Chapel at Lewiston.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home and burial will take place at the Normal Hill Cemetery at Lewiston. Sister Mary Ann Farley of St. Joseph's Pastoral Care Department will officiate.

Memorials may be made to the Bradley Crosby Memorial Scholarship, in care of the Lewiston School District Trust Fund, or the Hospice of the Valley in care of Gardiner Home, 1522 W. Myrtle, Phoenix 85021.
