Mrs. Shirley Barksdale was born on June 13, 1950 in Kosciusko, Mississippi to the late Mrs. Cynthia Viola Gregory Hunt and Mr. Clarence Hunt.
She confessed her faith in Christ at an early age, and upon receiving Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior, has gone on to get the great reward promised to all who faithfully serve our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
On July 30, 1989, Shirley was united in holy matrimony to Rev. Daniel Barksdale. They have two beautiful daughters and three beautiful grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cynthia and Clarence Hunt, and three brothers, Leobia Hunt, Leroy Hunt, and L.D. Hunt.
She leaves to cherish precious memories these loved ones: a loving and devoted husband, Rev. Daniel Barksdale; two daughters, Cynthia Dawson (Chicago, IL); and De Shelia (Anthony) Tidwell (Jackson, MS); three grandchildren, Raven Washington, De Shell Tidwell, and Chancie Tidwell; five sisters: Sylenthia Smith, Ida C Nickerson, Teressie Clark (all of Kosciusko, MS); Le Vonia Simmons, and Carolyn Brown (both of Chicago, IL); four brothers: Rev. John (Jackie) Hunt, Pastor Louis (Jerlene) Hunt (all of Kosciusko, MS); Leogia Hunt (Chicago, IL); and David (Carla) Hickmon, Jr. (Milwaukee, WI). She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, other, loving relatives and friends.
