Marie was born July 4, 1925, near Prague, Nebraska on the family farm. Her parents were John and Josephine (Eidelpres) Husak. Marie grew up in the Prague and North Bend area, and graduated from North Bend High School.
On July 25, 1950, she was married in Lincoln to Kenneth J. Clausen. Ken was serving in the Air Force at Offutt Air Base, so they lived in Omaha and then Mead. When Ken was transferred to Alaska, Marie stayed behind, and joined him later in Duluth, Minnesota. Following his discharge from the Air Force, they lived in Wahoo until moving to Fremont in 1954. Marie worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone Co. - Western Electric 20 years, then worked for the Fremont Care Center (now Nye Legacy) 20 years.
Marie was a member of First Lutheran Church. She had been a Sunday School teacher, Girl Scout leader and caregiver. She enjoyed crafts, sewing and quilting.

2 grandchildren – Garrett and Ian Clausen
2 step-grandchildren – Scott and Matthew Wagner

2 sisters-in-law – Wilma Husak of Idaho

Marie was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth, by 2 sons, Joel and Kenneth “Jim”, infant daughter Margaret, and 2 brothers, Oliver and Joe Husak.
The funeral service will be 10:30 AM Friday (Oct. 16th) at First Lutheran Church with the Rev. Marty Tollefson. The committal will follow in Ridge Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the children’s ministries of First Lutheran Church. Visitation at the Ludvigsen Mortuary will be on Thursday from 2 to 8 PM, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 PM."
