Viola Davidson, age 92 of Stanton, died at her home in Stanton on Friday December 30, 2016.

Memorial services for Viola Ruth Davidson, will be held 10:00 A.M. Monday, March 13, 2017 at the New England Congregational United Church of Christ in Stanton, Nebraska with Pastor Linda Mohr officiating. Burial will be in the Stanton Cemetery under the direction of the Shultz – Vogel – Johnson Mortuary.

The daughter of Lumir and Clara (Wecker) Husak, she was born November 3, 1924 six miles north of Leigh. She received her elementary education in District 48, graduated from Stanton High School in 1942, attended Wayne State College and the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. She taught rural districts #20, 56, 48, and 31 prior to her marriage.

On June 19, 1949 she and Delbert Davidson were united in marriage in the Congregational Church. They were engaged in farming six miles south of Stanton for 30 years, later moving to Stanton in 1979.

Mrs. Davidson was a member of the Congregational Church and its Women's Fellowship, taught Sunday School 20 years, served on education and building committee's and served as a deaconess. She served as Past Matron of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter 146 in Stanton, 4-H Leader and past 4-H county chairman. She also worked in the Stanton Elementary School 26 years. She was a food service provider in the cafeteria and later served as a teachers aid in the classroom. Retiring when she was 82 from Stanton Elementary School. She was a member of Clay Hill Club, and Butterfly Homemakers Club.

Survivors include one sister, Lois Garrison (Miles), one daughter and spouse Vicki and Jerry DeLashmutt, Lubbock, Texas, three sons and spouses, Tim and Gwen Davidson, Hastings, Nebraska, Kent and Belinda Davidson, Emmetsburg, Iowa, Jeff and Kim Davidson, Omaha, Nebraska, nine grandchildren: Lora DeLashmutt, Leah Frances (Robert), Christopher Davidson (Angela), Patrick Davidson (Megan), Brittany McPhillips (Anthony), Amy Martini (Patrick), Holly Sidles (Joshua), Jack Davidson and Nick Davidson. Ten great-grandchildren: Marshall, Miya, Mason Frances, Collin, Parker, Reese Davidson, Ella McPhillips, Sydney, Kennedy Martini, and Macoy Sidles.

Viola was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert Davidson, parents Lumir and Clara Husak, one sister, Mary Jean Drott, and an infant son, Thomas.
