Betty Jo Layman of Oklahoma City passed away December 16, 2006 at the age of 72. She was born in El Reno, Oklahoma on October 22, 1934 to Russell Hutchins and Marie (Little) Hutchins. She attended Central High School and graduated with the Class of 1952 where she was active in the 'Red Skirts". She married E. Frank Layman on June 8, 1952. She was currently attending First Southern Baptist in Del City where she was active in the Choir and Women's ministry. She was a member of Olivet Baptist Church in Oklahoma City, where she attended for many years and was active in the Choir, Women's ministry, and Children and Youth Ministries. She was a Wife, Mother, Mentor, and Counselor to her family and friends. Betty is survived by her children: Catherine Humphreys of Nashville, TN, Rusty and Mary Layman of Libertyville, IL, Carol and Jim Bybee of Oklahoma City, OK, Randy and Lauren Layman of Oklahoma City, OK, Christy and Don Haycraft of Oklahoma City, OK, Carin and Josh Prickett of Colleyville, TX, her numerous grandchildren and great-grand children, her siblings: Sister Bonnie and Fred Warren of Renton, WA, and numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends for viewing and visitation on Monday evening from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Vondel Smith Mortuary North, 13125 N. MacArthur. Funeral Services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, December 19, 2006 at First Southern Baptist Church; 6400 South Sooner Road, with private family graveside services following at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be: Josh Prickett, Jonathan Prickett, Jim Bybee, Josh Layman, Don Haycraft, and Chris Haycraft. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Fred Warren, and Todd Novak. Special thanks to the staff of The Lakes, Crossroads Hospice and First Call Hospice.
