Karen Hutchins Gleason, 71, died Apr. 15, 2009 at her home in El Reno. Prayer service will be 6 p.m. Sun., Apr. 19. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Mon., Apr. 20. Both services will be at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church in Yukon with burial in the Yukon Cemetery. Karen Ann Fay was born Apr. 13, 1938 in OKC. A graduate of Bishop McGuinness High School, she was an active community leader and volunteer, Girl Scout Leader, Homeroom Mom and an accomplished pianist. She managed a medical office and was an executive legal secretary retiring in 1985. She was a longtime member of St. Francis of Assisi Church where she served as a lectern. On Oct. 12, 1957, Karen married Thomas J. Gleason and in 1999 she and Tom returned to the family farm near El Reno. She was a member of St. John Nepomuk Church, Class of '56 Reunion organizer and Friendly Circle Home and Community Group. She enjoyed being involved with her children and grandchildren. Tom preceded her in death on March 14, 2009. Karen was also preceded in death by her parents, C.H. "Ted" and Mildred Elizabeth Manning Hutchins and two granddaughters, Haley Elizabeth Arnold and Annie Grace Carroll. Karen is survived by 4 daughters, Tamara Cleghorn of Farmers Branch, TX, Tori LaPorte of El Reno, Tonja Arnold of Yukon and Teri Carroll of El Reno 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
