Joy Hoffman, 76, of Guymon passed away Saturday morning, April 17, 2010 at the Memorial Hospital of Texas County in Guymon.
The daughter of Roy Dean Hutchins and Teressa Von Schriltz, she was born August 31, 1933 at Woodward, Oklahoma.

Joy and Lawrence A. "Whitey" Hoffman were united in marriage on December 24, 1951 in Buffalo, Oklahoma. They moved to Guymon in November of 1952 from Buffalo.

Joy was a devoted homemaker, wife and mother. Joy's family was her life. Joy always had time to be involved and active in the lives of all her family members. Joy took great pride in all the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren. Joy was always glad to help care for and listen to family members and friends. When times were tough she was there to help Lawrence support their family by taking in ironing, babysitting for the Presbyterian Church nursery and numerous local families. She loved sewing, crocheting, bowling, and her beautiful roses.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence "Whitey" Hoffman on December 16, 2002; one son, Wayne Hoffman; grandson, Toby Hoffman; granddaughter, Laura Edge; great grandson, Matthew Edge; three sisters and two brothers.

Survivors include one son, Joseph Hoffman of Guymon; one daughter, Cathy and husband, Lynn Mason of Hardesty, Oklahoma; grandchildren: Tucker and wife, Sharalee Hoffman of Guymon, Misty and husband, Daniel Tramel of Guymon, Tess and husband, Bryant Anderson of Anthony, Kansas, Heath Mason of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Larae Mason of Mansfield, Texas, Jessica and husband, Chris Graham of Texhoma, Oklahoma and John Hoffman of Haswell, Colorado; great grandchildren: Ty Hoffman, Aternity and Antonio Tramel, Dakota Hedrick, Cade and Cole Anderson, Emily Ledford, and Marissa, Madison and Ryan Graham; and one brother, Claude Hutchins and wife, Charlie Mae of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday afternoon, April 19th at 2:00 p.m. at the Bunch – Roberts Chapel with Pastor Gordon Moore officiating. Interment will follow in the Elmhurst Cemetery. Services are under the care of the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon.

The family suggest memorials be given to the Parkinson Foundation or the American Heart Association. Memorials will be accepted at the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home, PO Box 1112, Guymon, OK 73942. Friends can sign the online guest book at www.bunchroberts.com.
