The Chico Enterprise-Record (Chico, California) 17 Jan 1986, Friday Page 10: Katherine Abbott. Mass of the Resurrection for Katherine May Abbott, 67, of Chico will be said 1 p.m. Saturday in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. She died Thursday in her home.
Mrs. Abbott was born April 22, 1918, in Pueblo, Colo., to Wade and Allie May Hutchins. She was reared in Carlsbad, N.M., and she married Vincent Abbott there in 1937. They moved to San Diego in 1941, and to Chico in 1962.
Survivors include six daughters, Barbara Richmond, Kathy Vlasoff, Cindy Haver and Mary Shippen, all of Chico, Margaret Noval of Sonoma, and Sandy Abbott of San Diego; seven sons, Dr. Stephen, Jim and Patrick, all of Chico, Marvin of Riverbank in Stanislaus County, Butch of Medford, Ore., Fred of Galt in Sacramento County, and John of Dale Land, Ariz.; her mother of Carlsbad; four brothers, Hubert Hutchins of San Diego, Bernie and Robert Hutchins, both of Carlsbad in San Diego County, and Paul Hutchins of Cloud Croft, N.M.; three sisters, Patricia Whildin of Hawaii, Esther Koster of Flint, Mich., and Betty Deandes of Carlsbad; and 23 grandchildren.
Her husband and two of her children, Virginia and Michael, died previously. The Rev. Charles Kennedy will conduct the services, burial to be at Glen Oaks Memorial Park.
