Adelaide Frances Igoe Cartwright

Adelaide Frances Igoe Cartwright, 83, of Vero Beach, Fla., died Monday, December 27, 2010, after a brief illness. Mrs. Cartwright was born in Schenectady, N.Y., a daughter of Frank J. Igoe and Adelaide Koonmen Igoe.

She moved to Vero Beach in 1985 from Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

She is survived by Alton Stuart Cartwright, whom she married in 1951.

Mrs. Cartwright graduated from Vassar College and Albany Law School. She was admitted to practice law in New York in 1954.

She lived in Erie, Pa., for many years where she was active in many civic associations. With her family, she moved to Montreal and then to Toronto, where they lived for a number of years. She was a member of the Northern Lake George Yacht Club and the Johns Island Club, Vero Beach.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Ann Marie Fredrickson and Blythe Leonard.

Also surviving are four sons, Stuart Andrew and his wife, Sally, of Wayland, Mass.; Atty. Matthew Alton and his wife, Atty. Marion Munley, Moosic; David Francis and his wife, Sally, of Milwaukee, Wis.; and Atty. Patrick Harper and his wife, Kelli, of Albany, N.Y.; and their families, including seven grandchildren, including Jack and Matt Cartwright, Moosic; as well as nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her brother, Frank J. Igoe Jr., Medina, N.Y.

Funeral Mass will take place at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul of the Cross Church, North Palm Beach, Fla.

Burial will take place at Valley View Cemetery, Ticonderoga, N.Y.

A Memorial Service will be held at St. Mary's Church, Ticonderoga, near her summer residence on Lake George.
