Opal Irwin, widow of Vernie Irwin who died in 1959, died this morning at the Turtle Creek Convalescent Centre where she had suffered a lengthy illness.
A native of Jolietville, she was born Feb. 15, 1898 to Miles and Sarah (Maple) Brouhard. She had lived in Jolietville all of her life until moving to Westfield some 15 years ago. She served as organist for the former Jolietville Methodist Church for 50 years.
Two daughters, Mary Jo DeMoss, Westfield, and Virginia Barker, Carmel, survive, along with four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
