Obituary from Memorial service program:

Tasceaie Carise Charles was born on May 24, 1929 at seven p.m. in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was an only child. She was the pride and joy of her mother, Garthia Pierson.

Tess as she was called, endeared herself to everone she met. she loved life so much that she gave birth to sixteen children. She said that four children assured a mother a place in Heaven.

Mother as she was called by her children, was blessed with an early belief in God. She loved people.

To serve people, Tess became a Licensed Vocational Nurse and used her healing hands to spread her love of God to many.

Mother, Tess, Nurse, Healer; we love and will miss you. May you remain in our hearts for all time.
-----------------------------------------------------------

Services were held at Memorial Chapel Rose Hills Memorial Park on Saturday, May 22, 1993 at 2:30 p.m.

Mother was married several times. The men in her life were Ulysses Dean Pero, Floyd Coulter, Sam Small, Cleophis Ware Jr., and Zebbie T Charles Sr.

Children include: James, Garthia, Ronaldo, Gerald, Barbara, Carol, Zebbie T. Jr., Carise, Richard, Carla, Martha, Jerry, Randle, Victor, Paul, and Suzette.

Ronaldo and Gerald were seperated from their family as children and we have only recently found Ronaldo. Mother never got to see either of them again. Victor and Zebbie Jr. preceded their mother in death.

Of Mother's children, most of them have college educations including several Masters degrees, working in art, and service careers including Mental Health, Health Care, Social Work, Education, Law and literature.

Note: My husband, James Dean Pero said his mother was called "Tas" not "Tess".

Joy Eastes Pero, wife of her oldest son James Dean Pero
