Bernard R. Jackson

Bernard R. Jackson, 84, of Vienna died June 26, 2006, at the Heartland of Marietta.

He was born at Petroleum, W.Va., the son of the late Morello and Nellie Leep Jackson. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II and had retired from Union Carbide Co.

He is survived by his daughter, Linda "Kay" Lowther of Waterford, Ohio; his sisters, Genevieve Mackey of Washington, W.Va., and Mary Gorrell of Walker; his grandchildren, Daniel Brent Jackson, Joshua Andrew Jackson, Ronda Sprague and Kimberly Binegar; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Kester Jackson; two sons, Stephen Jackson and Mark Jackson; and two brothers, Ronald and Donald Jackson.

Memorial services will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at the Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg. Burial will be in the Evergreen North Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donors choice.
