FORT VALLEY - Ollie Lee Jackson, 88, entered into rest on Tuesday, March 23, 2010. -Mrs. Helms was born on December 27, 1921 in Fort Valley, Georgia. She was the daughter of Leonard and Mittie Lee Jackson. She and her three brothers grew up in Cuthbert and McRae. During World War II she packed parachutes at Robins Air Force Base in Warner Robins, where she met her husband, Henry Milas Helms. They were married in 1946 in Macon; he died in 1977. -Mrs. Helms was a member of Green Acres Baptist Church in Warner Robins. In her later years she moved to the Gardens of Calvary in Columbus, Georgia. -Her loving memory will be cherished by her brother, William Jackson; three sons, Ronnie Helms (Karen); Kerry Helms (Ann); and Craig Helms (Abbey); and two grandsons, Eric Helms and Daniel Helms. -Visitation will be Thursday, March 24, 2010, from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at McCullough Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 11A.M. Friday, March 26, 2010 at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, Reverend Johnny Ellison officiating. -Memorials may be given to: Columbus Hospice, 7020 Moon Road, Columbus, Georgia 31909.
