BIG STONE GAP, Va. - Virginia J. Adams, 66, died Saturday (Dec. 29, 2001) at Wellmont Lonesome Pine Hospital.
Born in Pardee, Va., she was of the Holiness faith and formerly attended Green Pasture Fellowship Church.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, as well as a devoted friend to all she knew.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Flem Jackson, Dave and Ethel Minor; two brothers, Fred Jackson and Artemous "Buddy" Jackson; and also one granddaughter, Chrissy Holmes.
Surviving are her husband of 49 years, Kermit Adams; five sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald (Ann) Adams, Jackie (Kim) Adams, Freddie Vera) Adams, all of Big Stone Gap, Gale Adams and Christopher Adams, of the home; four daughters and sons-in-law, Deretha (John) Baker, Sheila (Jimmy) Qualls, Melinda (Gerald) Litton and Cindy (Steve) Holmes, all of Big Stone Gap; one brother, Gerald Jackson, Strawberry Plains, Tenn.; one sister, Lola Head, Big Stone Gap; 10 grandchildren, Dana Snodgrass, Sherry Baker, April Baker, Kimmie Rose, Jessica Adams, Landon Litton, Brandon Qualls, Justin Qualls, Ashley Adams and Billy Adams, all of Big Stone Gap; four great-grandchildren, Brandi and Tori Smith, David Snodgrass and Alyssa Rose, all of Big Stone Gap; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Calling hours are from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Holding Funeral Home in Big Stone Gap.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Qualls officiating.
Burial will follow in the Roundtop Cemetery, Wise, Va.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and sons-in-law.
