Roxie Anna "Nanny" Arthur, 89, surrendered to the Lord.
She was born in Powell, Texas and moved to Palestine, Texas as a young woman. While living in Palestine, she met and married Warren G. Arthur, Sr., a World War II veteran on July 5, 1946.
After his death in 1958, she raised and supported her three children, Jeanette, Claude and Warren, Jr. She moved to Dallas, Texas in 1973 to be near family.
In her senior years, Mrs. Arthur continued to have a vibrant memory and enjoyed cooking, traveling, blues music, dancing and being with her family. She also loved the color of red and was a big fan of the Dallas Cowboys.
She is preceded in death by her husband; a son, grandson, parents, and siblings.
She is survived by her daughter Jeanette (J.T.)Wiley; son Claude Arthur; brother Billy C. Joe and adopted son George Joyce Arthur. She is also survived by a host of extended family and friends.
Services will be at First Pentecostal COGIC in Dallas. She will be buried at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
