Joseph Ray "Joe" Deffenbaugh, 30, of Cheyenne died Dec. 20 at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center.

He was born Jan. 17, 1980, in Rawlins.

Mr. Deffenbaugh was a cook at Pizza Hut. Joe liked fishing and camping, the Dallas Cowboys, being with family and listening to Metallica.

He is survived by his father and mother, David and Carla Deffenbaugh of Cheyenne; a son, James Deffenbaugh of Cheyenne; two brothers, Jesse Deffenbaugh and Steven Deffenbaugh, both of Cheyenne; a sister, Allison Deffenbaugh of Cheyenne; grandmother, Gladys Deffenbaugh of Torrington; aunts and uncles, Glenda Deffenbaugh, Tracy Mahaffey, Delmer and Robin Deffenbaugh, Jerry Deffenbaugh, Terry and Deanna Deffenbaugh, all of Torrington, Donald Deffenbaugh of Rawlins, Steven Ward of LaGrande, Ore., and Dan and Jackie Deffenbaugh of Lincoln, Ill.; two nephews, Tyler Jacob McDaniels and Hunter Deffenbaugh of Cheyenne; a niece, McKenzie Deffenbaugh of Cheyenne and numerous cousins, great uncles and great aunts.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Roy Deffenbaugh; grandmother, Helen M. Ward; a nephew, Adrian Deffenbaugh; and a niece, Caitlyn Deffenbaugh.

Cremation will take place at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens. Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the Salvation Army Church.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jesse Deffenbaugh and Steven Deffenbaugh. Friends may contribute to the Joseph R. Deffenbaugh Memorial Fund in care of the family.
