Anchorage resident Brent Allen Johnson, 44, died Oct. 17, 2003, at home. A visitation was held at Evergreen Memorial Chapel, 737 E St. A funeral Mass was at St. Patrick's Catholic Church.
Mr. Johnson was born May 1, 1959, in Anchorage. He graduated from East High School in 1977, received a BSBA in accounting from Chapman University in 1988 and his juris doctorate from Gonzaga University School of Law in 1991. At the time of his death he was employed with Municipal Light and Power as labor relations manager. Before that he was the founding partner of the law firm of Johnson and Kim. He also was a longtime adjunct professor for the University of Alaska Anchorage, teaching business law. His family said: "Brent loved to brew beer and was known for his entertaining stories. He was a huge baseball fan and loved the Chicago Cubs. When his son was younger, he coached baseball for Simonian Little League. He loved all animals and they all loved him. He was devoted to his longtime canine companion and he loved walking her around Cheney Lake or Baxter Bog. "He was a loving father, grandfather, husband and friend. We will always remember his kindness, generosity, and words of wisdom. He had a truly gentle soul and we will miss him every day for the rest of our lives."
Mr. Johnson is survived by his sons, Marcus Brent Johnson and Robert Collier; daughter, Staci Collier; son-in-law, Steven Wood; former wife, Debby Johnson; grandchildren, Shaylee and Joshua Wood; and his dog, Kasi; all of Anchorage.
