Deborah Elaine Crawley was born on May 28, 1947. She was the fifth child born to Clifford Leroy and Louise Jean Johnson, who both preceded her in death. Four of her siblings Kenneth, Pamela, Clyde and David preceded her in death. Her sisters Cynthia, Diane and Margaret will cherish the memory of their dear sister.

On June 29, 1973, Deborah was united in holy matrimony to Henry Maylon Crawley Sr., and two children were born to the union. Each of them also brought 4 children to this union, forming "Crawley's Crew". Every other Sunday, their home was filled with 10 children or more, as their home was the one that every child in the neighborhood came to visit. "Aunt Debbie" also helped to raise Pam, Kevin, Whitney and Clifford at various points in their youth.

Deborah, affectionately known as Debbie, received her Associate's Degree in Culinary Arts from Henry Ford Community College. Her passion was for baking beautiful cakes for weddings and other baked goods for special celebrations. She also worked for the Inkster Public School system, Kroger Bakery and Inkster Valley Golf Course. However, her most important work was taking care of her family – from her husband, mother, mother-in-law, sons and daughters, Granny's girls and Granny's boys and any other child that needed a listening ear and caring heart.

She accepted Christ as her personal Savior and was baptized at an early age. She believed in prayer and serving the Lord. She has served in many church auxiliaries in her life – from being a Sunday School Teacher, Prayer Warrior, Soul Winner and Mother of her church. Mother Crawley joined Blessed Trinity Missionary Baptist Church, where her son, Rev. Damon L. Smith, is the Pastor. Her favorite expression when things became chaotic or we couldn't find something was "Divine Order". The Lord never failed her and we always found the lost article or things would settle down. Her favorite bible scripture was Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me". Anyone who has ever visited her will remember her singing her favorite hymn "The Storm is Passing Over", right along with the Hallelujah chorus that she rocked all grandkids to sleep with!

Her sunset was on April 14, 2011. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving and devoted husband, Henry, her mother-in-law, Mamie McQueen, her ten children Kelly, Mary (Dietrich), Damon (Giovanna), Desmond (Saudia), Christopher (Chantay), Shameka, Carol, Patricia (Jerry), Henry Jr. (deceased), and Eugene, twenty-two grandchildren Tiffany, Elaine, Handsome, Jacob, Joel, Joshua, Tiavonna, Devin, Desmond II, Octavia, Christopher II, Brandon, Crishawn, Angel, Manuel, Terrence, Brandon, Blake, Kacie, Regina, Nicholas, Jasmine; 2 great-grandchildren Kaden and Kheli; three sisters, a host of nieces, great nieces, nephews, great nephews, relatives, church members and friends.
