Ambrose Jones (1756-1833) was a private in Capt. Granville Smith's company, Col.William Grayson's regiment, Virginia ContinentalLIne. In 1821 he applied for and was allowed a pension. He was born in Virginia and died in Kentucky.

Known children were William, Priscilla, Nancy, Ginny, John, Richard, Barbara, Cinthy, James, and Ambrose.
