Mrs. John W. Hightower
Funeral services for Mrs. John Walter Hightower, 82, of 828 Grady St, were held at 11 am today in the chapel of Hart's Mortuary. The Rev. E. B. Duckworth and the Rev. L. S. Anthony officiated and burial was in Evergreen Cemetery.
Pallbearers were George Hightower, Durwood Hightower, James Hightower, Charles Godfrey, Edward Crowe and George Purvis.
Mrs. Hightower died Saturday in a local hospital.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Robert Bush, Covington, Mrs. Carl Groover, Macon; two sons, Sullivan Hightower, Macon, Cline Hightower, Macon; 11 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Hightower Rites Are Set

Funeral services for Mrs. John Walter Hightower, 82, of 828 Grady St., who died yesterday in a local hospital after a long illness, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the Chapel of Hart's Mortuary.
The Rev. E. B. Duckworth will officiate with burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
Mrs. Hightower had lived in Macon 50 years, coming here for Hawkinsville. She was a member of Liberty Chapel Freewill Baptist Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Robert Bush of Covington and Mrs. Carl Groover of Macon; two sons, Sullivan Hightower of Macon; 11 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
