Mrs. Jones passed away Friday, May 23, 2014, in a Lawton hospital.
Lillian Wanda Dickey Jones was born Aug. 27, 1935, in Paris, Texas, to Malcolm and Daisy Cook Dickey. She attended Booker T. Washington School at Tipton before transferring and graduating from Boyd High School in 1954. She worked in an avionics plant which did contract work for Boeing, McDonnell Douglas and the military in Millcreek, Wash. and San Diego. She retired in 1983. She loved to fish, read and crochet. She was a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church in Tipton, where she was formerly choir president, treasurer and announcement clerk.
She is survived by her mother, Daisy Dickey, of Tipton; one son, Derek Jones, of Kent, Wash.; two brothers: Malcolm Dickey Jr., of Yuma, Ariz.; and Robert Dickey, of Lawton; three sisters: Mildred Shipley, of Lawton; Mattie McCutchin, of Seattle; and Billie Payne, of Tipton; and two grandchildren: Bryson Jones, of Seattle; and Synterra Jones, of Kent, Wash.
She was preceded in death by her father, Malcolm Dickey Sr.; three brothers: Troy, Hubert and Paul Dickey; and one sister, Ruby Lee.
