Georgia LaVenia Jones of Red Mesa, Colo., born Oct. 5, 1913, in Tipton, Okla., passed from this life of heart failure at home on Monday, June 11, 2007, at 93 years of age. Mrs. Jones was born to Joseph E. and Mary Jane Ammons Cox.

Georgia Jones was an ordained pastor from 1951 until 2005, at which time she traveled and retired her ministry in Red Mesa. Her laugh and zeal to live was contagious to all. She was known by all as "Granny."

She married William H. Jackson in October 1931, who preceded her in death. She married Faye Jones in 1966, who also preceded her in death.

The legacy she leaves to all who came in contact with her was the deep love of Christ she shared. Her devotion to all people was always unconditional.

She is survived by her daughter, Jo (Jackson) Chesnut and husband, Leonard, of Red Mesa; daughter, Gail Judge of Red Mesa; grandson, Mark Chesnut of Red Mesa; granddaughter, Pam (Jackson) Smith of Loving, Texas; grandson, J. Ronald Jackson; granddaughter, Nelda (Jackson) Gunalda; granddaughter, L. Jo (Jackson) Barley of Lubbock, Texas; grandson, Paul Jackson of Yakima, Wash.; 15 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her son, Jerry T. Jackson; and her sisters, Hattie Jackson and Daisy McCulloch.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 23, at the Methodist Church in Marvel, Colo. Burial will be held by family in a private service in Tipton.
