Lura Beth Jones, 73, of Weatherford, passed away on May 9, 2008 in an Oklahoma City medical center.

She was born on November 25, 1934 on a farm near Tipton.

Lura attended school at Weaver Consolidated No. 13 School. She transferred to Tipton and graduated from Tipton High School in 1952. She was a payroll clerk at Kellwood's and Centra Leather Goods in Frederick for many years. She later started the Senior Citizens Program in Tipton. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She lived in Tipton and Frederick most of her life. She moved to Weatherford in recent years to be near her daughter and son-in-law.

She married her first husband Robert E. Clark on August 29, 1951 in Loving, N.M. She married her second husband Bill Jones on December 9, 1994, at Vernon, Texas.

Lura was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert E. Clark; a daughter who died in infancy; her parents, Ora E. McCormack and Sarah Joe Bishop-McCormack; and a sister, Reita Kelly.

She is survived by two daughters, Tammy Blair (Jubel) of Tipton and Elizabeth Calkins (T.J.) of Weatherford; two brothers, Joe McCormack (Lottie) of Edmond and John McCormack (Rebecca) of Edmond; a brother-in-law, Jimmie Kelly (Twala) of Frederick; three grandchildren: William Robert Harding, Lana Kay Rogers, and Shelby Caulkins; two great-grandchildren, Lane Robert Harding and Zane Scott Meza; and several nieces, nephews, many cousins, and friends.

The funeral services will be held in Jackson Funeral Home Chapel in Frederick. The burial services will be held at Tipton Cemetery.
