Funeral service for Charline Stevens, age 89, of Frederick will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 18, 2011 at the First Baptist Church in Frederick with Rev. Roland Behnke and Rev. Brent Morey officiating. Mrs. Stevens passed away on Monday, March 14, 2011 at Memorial Hospital in Frederick.

Charline Jones Stevens was born on April 30, 1921 in Carter, Oklahoma to Charlie Wilson "Bud" and Cordelia (Rogers) Jones. She attended Carter Public Schools, graduating from Carter High School in 1938. In the early 1940's she worked as Gasoline Clerk in the Tillman County Ration Board. While there she met John Roy Stevens, they were married January 27, 1946, in Altus, Oklahoma. They were blessed with three daughters and three sons. She was a homemaker until all the children were in school. She went to work at Industrial Park at the Betsy and Perfect Factories and Centra Leather Goods. She worked for Kelly's Outlet and was a distributor for the Daily Oklahoman for several years, her last place of employment was at CADA where she retired in 1999, due to ill health. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, she loved going to church and loved people. Charline played many instruments and had played the bass fiddle in the New York Symphony Orchestra.

She is survived by three sons, John Charles Stevens and his wife Peggy of Midland, Texas, Royce Lee Stevens of Clinton, Oklahoma Tim Dale Stevens of Rogers, Arkansas; two daughters, Elaine Rogers and her husband George of Frederick and Georgia Spoonemore and her husband Kim of Waurika; twenty one grandchildren; thirty one great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on July 6, 1992; one daughter: Elizabeth Lamb; one son: Roy Hudson Stevens; one brother: C. W. Jones; one sister: Cuba Lee Clark; two grandson: Joey Ray Burns and Jason Tittle; and one great-grandson: Tyler Lee Grissom.
