He was a member and deacon of Naomi Baptist Church for 35 years, a Sunday school superintendent for several years and a training union director. He taught men’s Bible class for several years.
Survivors include his wife, Christine Hegwood Jones; daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Rick Sheehan of South Bend, Ind.; sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Esther Jones, Ricky and Donna Jones, all of LaFayette; grandsons, Rev. Kenneth Jones, Eric Sheehan, Dakota Jones, Montana Jones, Jeremiah Jones; great-granddaughter, Miranda Jones; great-great granddaughter, Sydney Jones; great-great grandson, Lucas Jones; several nieces and nephews.
Services: Friday, July 30, at 3 p.m. at Naomi Baptist Church with Rev. Garland Hullender and Rev. Kenneth Jones officiating. Burial: LaFayette Memory Gardens. Pallbearers: Greg Neal, Greg Pickard, Gayland Hall, Ron Bennett, John Parker, Roger Suggs, Doug Hegwood and Keith Murdock.
